Kamal Bakhshi Modern Asian Art is a London based dealer of Modern Asian Art. Specialising in the work of Japanese artists our catalogue ranges from masterpieces by the likes of Toko Shinoda, Daniel Kelly, and Kazuko Shiihashi, to contemporary print-works by Ray Morimura, Kazutoshi Sugiura and Ryohei Tanaka. Kamal Bakhshi Modern Asian Art also offer a range of museum quality woodblock prints by master printmakers: Yoshitoshi Mori, Sadao Watanabe and Iwami Reika.

Midori Sahashi
Born in Nagoya, and taught by Nomura Hiroshi, Midori’s etchings are re- strained and textural. She is part of the British Museum’s permanent collection of Japanese prints and was featured in Lawrence Smith”s ‘Contemporary Japanese Prints Symbols of a Society in Transition’ (1985)
Morimura Ray
Originally an oil painter, his works were geometric style abstractions. He turned his hand to woodcut and lino cut print making, creating wonderfully intricate designs and textures, on mulberry bark kozo paper. He hopes to express something spiritual, in a contemporary sense, in his landscape works.
Toko Shinoda (Paintings)
Master of brush and ink and its expression on paper, Shinoda explores the Japanese aesthetic of negative space and yin and yang counterpoint to its fullest manifestation as abstraction. Yoshio Sekine
Sekine Yoshio (関根美夫) was born in Wakayama Prefecture and studied with the painter Yoshihara Jirô (1905-72) who founded the Gutai group of avant-garde artists in 1954.
